PRACTICING LAW IN A PANDEMIC

Practical efforts you can make to Practice in a very difficult time and survive and come out of this crisis financially solvent.  The focus will be on medium to larger firms.

How do you practice law during a pandemic? The past three months have turned our lives and work upside down. So much has changed with working from home, courts closed down, and mediations and depositions taking place by Zoom. While courts are slowly coming back, there is still a large backlog of cases and trials are not expected to resume for a while. The economy is also expected to continue to be a challenging environment that will linger long into 2021.

Hear from some of the most experienced and knowledgeable CELA members about their experiences in economic downturns and best practices for practicing law during this pandemic.

This Webinar is intended to provide sound best practices to help you move forward during this challenging time.

Employment Case Settlement Agreements:

The Tail Wagging the Dog

From pre-litigation to trial and post-litigation, a written settlement agreement is key to memorializing and hence, authenticating the settlement. However, it is what's IN the agreement, or what's NOT in it, that really creates the dissension between parties. In this program the panelists will try to dismantle the settlement agreement and discuss norms, non-norms and all that is new.
